There are various types of juicers that can be utilized for juicing lemons. Such as masticating juicers, centrifugal juicers, and citrus juicers; all these are quite capable to squeeze lemon. How to Use a Lemon Juicer – Step by Step Guide
1. Juice Lemon Using Citrus Juicers
Citrus juicer is the easiest way to juice the lemon. And no doubt, it is actually the lemon juicer or the orange juicer that works great with lemon and other citrus fruits. It is not highly technical; it only works by squeezing the two surfaces to the lemon instead of slicing or smashing.
a) When you want the fresh juice, the ingredients should be fresh and in optimum quality. It is not a good idea to squeeze the fruits after bringing them out immediately from refrigerator. Make sure the citrus fruits have room temperature, not too cold.
b) Choose a ripe fruit that should not be hard and heavier. The harder fruit is not easy to juice. The ideal lemon has a peel free of scar, and a strong sweet scent.
c) It is time to prepare the lemon for squeezing. You will need to roll it by using your hand. Grip it against a solid surface or a countertop. Provide smooth and gentle pressure on it. Move the lemon back and forth. This process will loosen the inner segments of the citrus fruits.
d) Use a chef knife to cut the lemon. Cut it through the center. You can cut crosswise or lengthwise to fit it into your lemon squeezer. To get more juice from lemon or lime, cut them lengthwise.
e) Take your squeezer. Place the lemon slice in it. Make sure to put the cut side down, it will extract more juice. The interior design of the squeezer will allow the fruit to fit flawlessly.
f) Now, bring the squeezer over a pot or bowl. You will need to bring both of the handles together. Use your non-dominant hand to hold the bottom handle. With your dominant hand, press on another handle which is on the top. Give enough pressure to bring them together.

2. Juice Lemon Using Masticating Juicers
Masticating juicer is also known as slow juicer. It doesn’t produce heat when juicing and gives the juice’s perfect nutritional value. It is suitable for citrus fruits, soft to solid fruits and vegetables as well.
Masticating juicers use gears rather than blades, and grind food rather than slicing it. Many of them have only one gear and grind the foods against the adjacent hard surface. On the other hand, many have two gears like a meat grinder. So, you don’t have to peel off the lemon. The juicer crushes the lemon and emits the juice in a separate container.
For the juicing process first, you have to cut the lemon into slices. Then put the lemon in the chute, the juicers have an auger that will crush the lemon after they pass through the chute.
The pulp and the juice are then separated by slowly squeezing the mixture after the crushing. The juices move through a mesh whereas the pulp is forced into a separate container. And juice in a different container as pure without any pulp.
Masticating juicer needs relatively more time to juice as it runs at a slow and controlled speed. But despite being slow the produced juice is full of nutrients, fresh, and thick and can be stored for a longer period. Because they squeeze the fruits very slowly, the juice does not have heat to kill the enzymes and antioxidants.
3. Juice Lemon Using Centrifugal Juicers
Centrifugal juicers work like a blender that has sharp blades and high-speed rotation to piece the foods, allowing the free flow of the juices. Along with different types of fruits and vegetables, it is also suitable for lemon.
For centrifugal juicers, you have to peel the lemon or can juice without peeling by cut halved or quartered. It actually depends on the model of the juicer. If the juicer doesn’t have a part to collect the peel after juice, then peeling is required.
The juicing process starts by putting the lemon in the chute but before that, you have to remove the plunger. Then place the container under the spout to store the juice. Switch on the juicer, and press down the lemons gently with the plunger.
Continue the process with the additional lemon the same way. You can see the lemon turn in juice and pouring off the spout soon. But to get the maximum juice from the lemon keeps running the juicer for around 15 seconds after the last of the lemons turns into juice.
There has a disadvantage of this juicer that it gets warm during the juicing process. The heat buildup is not good for nutritional value, as it partly kills vitamins and enzymes. You can use this when you need to instantly prepared juice and your budget is limited.
